Mental Health Services
Atchison Community Health Clinic is proud to begin offering SCHOOL-BASED MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES!!!! Atchison Public Schools and Atchison County Community Schools have executed agreements with ACHC that allow us to offer highly trained clinicians right in the school to see and support your child. Our clinicians are clinically trained, meaning that they have completed their Master's Degree and then went on to obtain a higher level of licensure to practice independently.
Therapy sessions will typically last about 30 minutes which will allow for increased contact and less time out of class for your child. Sessions will focus on building skills such as emotion regulation skills to manage anxiety and depression, learn to implement healthy boundaries and limits in relationships, manage stress, deal with grief, loss, and even trauma. This service is intended to reach students that may not be getting needed therapy services due to lack of transportation, parents being unable to get off of work, etc.
This service is available now within USD #409 at Atchison Elementary School, Atchison Middle School, and the Atchison High School. This service will be available within Atchison County Community Schools at the beginning of March! Please contact us here at the Atchison Community Health Clinic OR your school counselor to enroll your student. We accept Kansas Medicaid, commercial insurance, and those without insurance! Applicable copays apply for those with commercial insurance. We also offer services to those without insurance on a sliding fee scale. Call us to learn more!
**No service will be provided without written consent from a parent or guardian.
